January 2026 has been a month filled with laughter, creativity and unforgettable moments here at Wallsend Manor. From artistic masterpieces to spirited competitions and heartwarming community visits, our residents have embraced the new year with enthusiasm and energy.
Creative Expression with Jo
Under the expert guidance of Jo, our residents completed another stunning collaborative artwork—"The Fish Tank". This beautiful piece showcases the incredible talent and creativity that flourishes within our community. Working together on these projects not only produces amazing results, but strengthens the bonds between residents as they share ideas, techniques and plenty of conversation along the way.
Australia Day Celebrations
Australia Day brought out the true Aussie spirit at Wallsend Manor, and what better way to celebrate than with a ridiculously hilarious thong tossing competition? The afternoon was filled with laughter and friendly rivalry as residents took their turn at this quintessentially Australian pastime. Congratulations to Margaret, who earned the title of thong tossing queen! The day was enjoyed by all, and we're grateful to everyone who helped make it such a memorable celebration of our national day.
An Extraordinary Visit from Hunter Riders
One of the highlights of January was a truly uplifting morning visit from Hunter Riders. This extraordinary experience sparked lifelong memories for our residents, who were absolutely thrilled to explore the bikes and discover new wonders. The connection between our residents and the Hunter Riders team created moments of pure delight—the kind of experience that reminds us why community partnerships matter so much. Our heartfelt thanks go to Hunter Riders for sharing their time and passion with us.
Looking Ahead
As we move forward into the year, we're grateful for the vibrant, engaged community we share at Wallsend Manor. Whether it's creating art, celebrating together, or welcoming special visitors, every experience strengthens the connections that make this place feel like home.
