June 2025 at Wallsend Manor: A Month of Connection and Celebration

Here at Wallsend Manor Aged Care, June 2025 was a month to remember; full of flavour, laughter, and meaningful connection.

To mark Italian National Day, residents rolled up their sleeves and whipped up a rich and creamy chocolate tiramisu. It was as fun to make as it was to eat! Our classic BBQ lunch also served up great conversation and plenty of second helpings.

In the spirit of adventure, we embraced International Axe Throwing Day with a safe, fun twist that had everyone cheering each other on. Our first-ever Beer & Beards afternoon with new barber Jay was a highlight, bringing smiles and fresh cuts all around. Due to its popularity, it’s now a regular feature every 6–8 weeks.

Creativity flowed at our Paint and Sip session, with residents creating colourful masterpieces while enjoying a relaxing drink. Our retro-inspired Happy Hour “Spiders” brought back memories of milk bars and movie nights—topped with fizzy fun and laughter.

Celebrations continued with a special visit from the Birthday Bear, spreading birthday cheer to our June babies. The month wrapped up with a hearty Men’s Lunch at the Fire Station Hotel, where stories, laughs, and good food were shared in abundance.

June reminded us how much joy there is in coming together. Here's to more beautiful moments at Wallsend Manor!
