September was alive with laughter, friendship and creativity as we celebrated another wonderful month of Wallsend Manor community life.

Residents set sail on a cheerful cruise around Newy beaches, complete with soft serve ice cream, while others indulged in a delicious Spring Menu Tasting, where Chef Vincent and his talented team showcased new seasonal dishes. The energy and hospitality were truly second to none! Even a bit of rain couldn’t dampen spirits during the Camp Site Test, and Grahame’s enthusiasm kept everyone smiling.

A special moment of pride came when residents, guided by Jo, unveiled a stunning artistic masterpiece – a testament to teamwork and imagination.

Competition fever also took hold with the exciting Big Pong Tournament, where Ken emerged as the September champion. There was more fun and friendship during a delightful lunch at Hexham Bowling Club, and our Men’s Club Fishing Casting Competition brought out friendly rivalry, laughter, and a few good yarns on the lawn. The celebrations continued as we gathered to honour Godfrey’s 100th Birthday, a beautiful milestone surrounded by love and family.

Creativity flourished too with Lawson on the Lawn, as residents soaked up the sunshine while enjoying classic short stories by Henry Lawson. Meanwhile, the team began scripting an original radio comedy serial, promising plenty of laughs ahead. Kathleen’s “happy place” in the rear garden bloomed with colour thanks to many helping hands and freshly potted plants.

Every event this month reflected the warmth, spirit, and joy that make Wallsend Manor community life truly special.
