Engaging activities and lifestyle to encourage independent living

Activities, Leisure and Lifestyle

Activity Areas Within the Home Include:

It’s important for residents to have fun and enjoy meaningful activities.  Whilst being cared for within the home, their personal independent living choices of activities will be respected.  We listen to our residents and treat them as valued members of the community.

At Wallsend Manor Aged Care, there is a range of activities, events and entertainment for residents to enjoy.
These activities encourage cognitive, social and physical interaction.  Residents have the freedom to choose to do as much or as little as they like, promoting independent living.

Social Hub for Leisure and Lifestyle

There is a social hub in the central area of the home which is easily accessible to encourage independent living and hosts our exciting leisure and lifestyle program.  Residents can partake in group exercise classes, art and crafts, bingo, watching movies and sport on the large screen TVs,
sing-a-longs with live performers, petting animals, church services, reading a book in the library area and more.

Local Community Groups

There are organised visits from local groups that encourage resident involvement in activities and other planned events. Therefore, they continue to feel part of the broader community.

Friends and Family Visiting

Friends and family will always be welcome to visit loved ones.  The coffee hub is the perfect place to relax and
enjoy a cuppa and catch-up overlooking the beautiful landscaped courtyard.
